Adulting can be incredibly stressful and at times overwhelming. I honestly feel like there is always something to do and if I have completed my tasks for that day (ha ha as if) than the rest of my time is spent thinking on what I need to do in the future. Ironically enough when I finally make it to my bed at the end of the day I feel as if I accomplished nothing at all.
•Sleep & repeat
So between being a mom,a wife and occasionally an individual,unfortunately sometimes I can feel bombarded causing my anxiety to elevate.
I have incorporated a few things into my weekly schedule to help me relax,thought that I would share a few of them.
- Sip a cup of green tea
Green tea is a source of L-Theanine, a chemical that helps relieve anger.
I typically try to drink a cup during the day with flower honey and lemon. Before bed is also beneficial as long as it is non caffeinated!
•Calming flavors include: peppermint,chamomile and lemon balm!
2.Create a “safe space”!
Sometimes just sitting in the bathroom or stepping outside isn’t enough so I created my own little zen zone! This is a safe space that I felt I needed and deserved. Just knowing that I have a dedicated space inside of my home where I can go to sketch,read,sip tea or just prop my feet up and sit in silence brings me peace. This may sound strange but my husband has his man cave and I have my zen zone.
3.Bubble bath 🛀
For as long as I can remember taking a shower or a bath always made me feel so much better. Its as though I’m scrubbing away any pain,anger,regret or worry. I encourage the use of epsom salt along with an essential oil coupled with a carrier oil. By doing this it creates a spa like feel.
*🛀Recommendation:fill tub with warm water,while water is running sprinkle in a cup (2 if experiencing sore or aching muscles) of epsom salt as well as a bubble bath of your choice. Add in about 7 drops of essential oil along with 10 drops of chosen carrier oil. (Sweet almond oil,olive oil,coconut oil)
What is a carrier oil?
An oil with little or no scent that is used to dilute or “carry” essential oils (scented liquid taken from plants).
*some essential oils should never be used on the skin without being diluted.
Light a candle,play soothing music have a glass of wine if you’d like. Most importantly relax!
🌻Fun fact:I actually make my own bath-soak with a combination of epsom salt and pink Himalayan salt!

Remember to take it one day at a time,we are human and life will continuously throw things (both negative and positive) in our direction. We truly only have absolute control over ourselves,so try to have an open mind and to be understanding. Take time for you! Mental health is so important,yet so often we neglect it.
I have days were all I want to do it lay in bed but I can’t! It’s not fair, it’s not fair to my husband ,my daughter and most importantly myself. I have found ways to help release my anxiety,stress and anger for both myself and my family. Negative energy is toxic,I don’t want to be responsible for tainting something so beautiful.
