Sunday slime time!

Sunday’s are typically our rest days so we tend not to do much. I thought that it would be cool to attempt to make slime! The recipe we found online was fairly simple;there are several different recipes floating online but this one caught our eye since it did not require borax!

We finessed the recipe to get it to our preferred slime-ness.🤪

Let’s get slimy:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or spoon
  • Elmer’s glue
  • Craft glitter
  • Food coloring
  • Chia seeds(optional for sensory overload)
  • Cornstarch
  • -⬇️ (not required if you dilute cornstarch with water before adding to glue)⬇️
  • Shaving cream
  • Laundry detergent

Ingredients found in the picture below :

Put glue into mixing bowl depending on how much you would like to make. You can start with about a 1/4 cup.

Add in food coloring,we decided to go for a greenish blueish color so we added 6 drops of blue and 4 drops of green!

Add cornstarch(preferably 50/50 water and starch)

Combine well then add in glitter as well as chia seeds!

Mix with a spoon or spatula !

Mesmerizing😍

As we mixed the color became mute.
If this happens to you just add more drops of color! After finessing, now slimy and malleable

At the end we finally achieved the renowned “slime” consistency! Because we had added powdered cornstarch to the glue mixture we had to take a few extra steps such as adding laundry detergent, shaving cream and mixing in hot water. We didn’t mind at all,it was actually a lot of fun we were like little chemist!
